“If you are not prepared to be wrong, you’ll never come up with anything original.” – Ken Robinson

Fiddling through all of the countless blogs and digital resources online can dizzy anyone. In my attempt to become conversant with everything technologically applicable for students, I have been reading blogs and participating in a few digital communities. It has been enlightening and, thankfully, with enough research and reading, I’ve stumbled upon a handful of good blogs that I regularly check and have found interesting and useful. For the sake of time and space I will not be listing or referring to all of these blogs in this journaling, rather I would like to share the source for the the quotation/title above.
The other day, amidst my attempts to be functional within the pain of illness, I found an interesting thread throughout multiple online discussions. Multiple conversations focused on creativity and learning and referred to what creativity expert, Sir Ken Robinson had to say at the February 2006 TED conference in Monterey, CA. I was not familiar with the presentation, and although the topic was of particular interest to me, the idea of sitting through a 20 minute presentation was not appealing. Well, I did manage to sit still awhile and because of what I found during the video I urge you also to click on the “presentation” link above and indulge for a small group of minutes. What Ken Robinson has to say is enlightening, motivating and quite entertaining and he offers a well developed view of creativity in our educational system.
